Payment Methods

The SilverLeaf currently accepts MasterCard, Visa, Money Order, and Paypal payments, as well as Personal Checks (held until clear). Please do not send Cash.

 

Sales Tax

The SilverLeaf will not be collecting any taxes at this time.

 

Order Acceptance Policy

The SilverLeaf reserves the right to accept or decline your order for any reason. We also reserve the right to alter the price of all items we carry at any time, as stated by our policy: Prices Change.

 

Typographical Errors

In the event a product is listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information due to typographical error, error in pricing, product information received from our suppliers, etc, The SilverLeaf will attempt to contact you by phone or email before canceling the order or item that is incorrect. Information on our web site is updated regularly and will always be the most current information available. We will soon have a complete catalogue for you to download, over time prices and availability can change drastically from what will be listed in our printed catalog.

 

Price changes

Prices are subject to change without notice. The prices listed on our website will be the most accurate and up to date. Be sure to keep an eye on the NEW ITEMS category of our website, as we constantly bring in new items to replace those we have/will discontinue.

 

Back Order Policy

The SilverLeaf does not backorder any items. If the item is not in stock when we pick your order we will adjust your invoice and contact you. You have the option to reorder.

Return Policy

 

RETURNS:
If you want to return a product to The SilverLeaf you must contact us within 7 days of receipt of said item by emailing returns@thesilverleaf.ca or by calling us at 1-403-830-4491. At which time you will be given a Return Authorization Number, please quote this number in any further correspondence. You must have the original invoice number to refer to. Returns may be subject to a 10% restocking fee.
Due to the increase in shipping costs, we will refund the full amount of your money less shipping charges for any shipping fees billed to us due to a package being returned or refused without prior approval.

 

DAMAGES:
If you are missing any merchandise from your order, or have received damaged items, put the package aside and contact us within 7 days so we may get the issue resolved in a timely manner. The SilverLeaf will, upon your request, replace any merchandise that is received in damaged condition or as a result of a picking error. No merchandise will be accepted or replacements issued without prior approval to return such merchandise. Filing of damage claims or missing package claims with the shipping provider (Postal Service, Fed Ex, Etc…), should be done immediately.

 

Privacy Policy

Your privacy is of the utmost importance to us, we would like to assure you we do not keep or sell any information with the exception of email addresses for those that have asked for a copy of the news/information letter. The SilverLeaf does not share customer information including emails, phone numbers, or postal mail addresses with any outside party. It is not our policy to spam nor do we send unwanted postal mail. Any batch emails sent out will be only to notify customers of new or sale items as well as special offers and sales per specific customer requests.
International Orders and Regional Laws

It is the responsibility of the purchaser to understand and answer for all fees and charges required by Customs and Duty regarding packages ordered and shipped internationally.
All items sold and distributed by The SilverLeaf are legal for sale and distribution. However, it is the responsibility of all customers to understand local, regional, and national laws pertaining to the items they purchase, and purchasers are solely responsible for packages lost or destroyed, or any legal action resulting from the purchase of the items that are illegal in their particular country or region.

Shipping Policies

The SilverLeaf prefers to ship via the postal service and Courier. Exact methods will vary based upon the availability of these services and what is offered to your location, and will be offered at the time of your purchase via the online shopping cart. Shipping charges are calculated upon the weight of the items within your order, the shipping method you choose, and your location with a minimum charge of $5.00 for domestic orders and $6.00 for international orders. Please note that if the cart indicates that shipping cost for your order is $1.00 our software cannot calculate your charges due to location or computer error and we will calculate shipping manually upon receiving your order, and notify you of the charges.

Most orders will be shipped within 24 business hours, unless items are not available. Changes to an order will not be accepted once it has been packaged. Orders cannot be canceled once they have been shipped. You may however refuse the package, and upon its return receipt we will credit you for the merchandise. Shipping fees will still apply.

We ship to anywhere in the world with Canada Post, (USPS), and other couriers as available.
After your payment is received or cleared, we will prepare your order and ship it out within 3 business days.

To U.S. destinations:

– Courier Ground: 3-6 working days
– USPS Priority Mail: 3-5 working days
– USPS Regular Mail: 1-2 weeks

To Canada destinations:

– Regular: 1-7 working days (Canada Post, courier)

To International destinations:

– Express: 7-14 working days (Worldwide Expedited)

U.S. buyers please keep in mind that, it may take longer than the expected time via regular mailing service, due to custom holds up.

Taxes

GST (HST) and provincial taxes, we do not charge additional taxes.
No sales tax applied for U.S. & international buyers.
However, we are not responsible for your country’s imposed customs duties, taxes and other charges (VAT). Normally, items under $200 shipped from Canada to U.S. are duty free.

HOW TO HANG BAMBOO CURTAINS

Hanging bamboo curtains is very easy. They are usually a collection of bamboo reeds strung on a wire and attached at the top beneath a wood valance. They come in a variety of finishes, including light, medium and dark wood tones. You may also paint bamboo curtains to depict a scene, such as a tranquil sunset or a tropical island. Or they may come already painted. Hang them in doorways to separate a closet or a bedroom, or hang over windows to create interest and maintain privacy while still letting in light.

 

Instructions– Things You’ll Need:

2 medium sized Cup hooks
Hammer
Pencil
Level
Measuring tape
Foot stool or ladder

1) Measure your opening. Decide if you want to install the curtains between the opening or above the opening as is flush with the wall

2) Find the center of your curtian make a faint pencil mark. Find the Center of your dooway make a faint pencil mark. You will try to match these up when you hang your curtain.

3) Measure the distance between the two eyelets on top of the curtain valance (The eyelet hangs on the cup hooks to hold the curtain.), and mark your door frame accordingly. For example, if the eyelets are 20 inches from each other, hold your curtain up against where you want to install(matching the center marks) measure and mark 10 inches on each side of the center mark. Make a mark on the doorway to put the cups hooks into.

4) Hold up the bamboo curtain against the door frame, and line up the eyelets with your marks. If bamboo curtain looks square with the door (no gaps on either side), remove the bamboo curtain, and use the level to make sure the marks are even. If the curtain doesn’t rest evenly over the doorway, adjust the marks left or right until the bamboo curtain evenly covers the opening. Level your new marks.

5) Screw in a cup hook at each mark; you might need to gently tap it with the hammer just to get it started in the doorway. If you are installing the curtain flush with the wall you will need to try to find studs or to screw into or your curtian may not be very secure and pull out of the wall (I pre drilled 2 holes in my curtain valance at the stud marks and screwed right thru the curtain valance into the stud/wall.)

6) Hang the bamboo curtain on the cup hooks, and bend the hooks closed to prevent the bamboo curtain from dislodging if it gets caught as you’re going in or out.
